Places to Visit in New Zealand
New Zealand is known in legend as the Land of the Long White Cloud – and the stunning landscapes, lush vegetation, and unique wildlife certainly live up to the mythological quality of its name. Its pleasant climate and minor seasonal variation not only makes it an agreeable place to live, but also the perfect holiday destination no matter what time of year you wish to visit. It is comparable in size and shape to Great Britain or Japan, however, the great advantage of New Zealand is that it has a population of only about 4 million - making it one of the world's least crowded countries.
New Zealand would appear to offer much to the adrenaline junkie; bungee jumping, skiing, parachuting, jet boating and white water rafting to name just a few active pursuits. But there is also a lot to do if you intend your stay to be a little more relaxing; you can take a yacht out to the Bay of Islands, dine in Auckland’s amazingly good restaurants, or visit the geothermal wonderland that is Rotorua…
Visitors from overseas should also know that at the current time, the exchange rate is most likely to be extremely favorable for them (particularly if they are from the US, UK or continental Europe), and that New Zealand as a result is in fact an unusually cheap holiday destination.
